AN INTRODUCTION.
We are three soldiers, bonded by a desire to push ourselves to our limits and make a positive difference whilst doing so.
We met at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2019 and soon became firm friends.
In 2020, we were selected to compete in a rigorous military skills competition at West Point, USA. Covid laid waste to that, so we decided to fundraise for charity by running marathons in our gardens whilst wearing cricket kit.
Today, we prepare to embark on our latest venture. Together, we are set to be the first official military trio to row any ocean.
OH BUOY.
THREE FRIENDS.
(IN A BOAT)
ROBERT CROSS
Rob failed his driving test twice but thinks he can cross the Atlantic first time. A Londoner, Rob commissioned into the Welsh Guards and has been deployed to Iraq and Kenya. A cricket lover, Rob hopes that England will be touring the West Indies on arrival.
CHARLIE NEWMAN
An Army child and now commissioned into 7 Para RHA, Charlie is used to a travelling existence. Calling the Atlantic his home for 40 days will therefore come relatively easy. Will immediately book himself in for a massage on reaching Antigua.
ROBERT TREASURE
Having grown up in landlocked Shropshire, Rob has been saved by the RNLI twice. He hopes that this time he will wash up on the right shore. A Rifleman, Rob has recently tried Nordic skiing and is now looking forward to spending time on water that isn’t frozen.
